Like the majority of Pamela Clare's novels I've had the pleasure of reading, this one kept me engaged from start to finish. The subtle hints about Tessa and Julian's backgrounds had me intrigued and immediately rooting for both of them. The creepiness of the bad guy and his goons had me looking over my shoulder more than once, and the way the story evolved captured me, keeping me turning pages well past bedtime. The character depth of all the players made the story, an expose on the price of human trafficking, even more tangible-a remarkable feat for a work of fiction.

The chemistry between Tessa and Julian leaps off the pages, drawing you into their romance. Tessa is strong, capable, and smart. Julian is alpha with a capital A, and yet he's also vulnerable, making him all the more attractive. The way the author brought these two together, and the way they grew and changed was intoxicating to witness.

A well thought out and written story that will keep you enthralled throughout, and well satisfied at the end. Great job, Pamela! More, please!

I actually got annoyed today that life happened and I was not able to read ggrrrr. I finished this one tonight and was just amazed again. The Russian mob and human trafficking part scared the crap out of me! I loved Tessa and the other I Team reporters who all have their personalities engraved in my brain. Tessa, much like Kara, interfered with a lot of the FBI task force and the DPD operations, some of them were just so funny too! When the story unfolds with Julian's family life and Tessa's equally messed up family life, we see the reasons why they evolved into the adults they are. Both Tessa and Julian were ashamed and not forthcoming about their past and childhood. Julian fights his demons because he cant get over that his father was a pimp and has emotional scars from that. Tessa has a family that forced her to lie and say she grew up in Georgia so she doesn't have to share her beginnings. Once we find out that Tessa is in love and in danger the story just captivates. I love the way the characters had a conscience and the things their conscience said to them. Tom is back and still the boss from hell, everyone is thrilled that Kara's Mom is there to ease him into being normal! Such a fantastic story I just enjoy being on the edge of my seat. Tessa Novak is an I-Team reporter with Denver Independence covering the cop desk. On her way home from work, she stops at a convenience store and becomes a witness to a murder of a young girl, moments after she pleaded for help. Tessa is determined to use her position to help find and expose the girls killer, even if it runs afoul of police efforts. Julian Decarangelo is an undercover federal agent who has been working the territory that involved the murdered young girl.

It doesn't take long for Tessa and Julian to cross paths and the attraction is mutual and electric. Of course they butt heads because of their respective work roles but their relationship heats up in spite of their differences. Tessa is gutsy and clever and Julian is hard-driven and gorgeous. They both are very attractive characters who have their share of personal baggage and it was interesting to follow the progression of their relationship. There's a lot of steam here and you're going to salivate over Julian.

The case is one that is brutal and difficult to absorb. There are a lot of exciting moments that will accelerate your heart rate. There were times when Tessa's decisions were maddening and ill-advised but at least you could rationalize her behavior, though her behavior sometimes bordered on the "too stupid to live" edge. I was also able to figure out who one of the culprits was fairly early on but it didn't interfere with my enjoying the story.

I'm really liking this series and planning to continue.
Hard Evidence, the second novel in the I-Team companion series, was another smashing hit by Pamela Clare. This romantic suspense novel was nothing short of sensational!

Hard Evidence was the fifth novel that I've read by Pamela Clare, and every single one of her novels have received a rating of 4 STARS or greater from me. That's impressive. In my opinion, it shows that 1) I really, really like Pamela Clare's style 2) She is consistently fabulous (which isn't as easy as it sounds). Most authors write at least one dud, but I haven't found one by Pamela Clare yet. Honestly, I'm running out of ways to compliment Ms. Clare.

I have zero complaints about Hard Evidence. It's sexy, sinful, suspenseful, and sweet! Julian and Tessa's chemistry was off the charts smokin' hot! My one and only complaint about Extreme Exposure, the first novel in the I-Team companion series, was that the hero was a little too perfect, which came across as unrealistic. Well, there's definitely no way anyone could make that same complaint against Hard Evidence. Julian, the hero in Hard Evidence, was far from perfect. Oh, he's sexy and charming. He was extremely sweet at times, but he was also a jerk at times, too. Julian had a dark side, and he had his flaws. In my opinion, his imperfections made him rugged and realistic.

Tessa was a strong heroine. She didn't make me laugh as much as Cara from Extreme Exposure did, but she kept me entertained, nonetheless. She's independent, confident, and brave, sometimes a little too brave for her own good.

I gave Hard Evidence by Pamela Clare 5 STARS. This action-packed suspense novel will have you frantically flipping the pages (or swiping your finger, in my case). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this novel, as well as anything else Pamela Clare has written.
