This is one of those books that you just need to read and experience for yourself- nothing I say will do it justice. This is one of those books that grabs you and won’t let go. This is one of those books that will stick with you, you’ll still be thinking about it weeks after finishing it, you’ll still tear up when you go to write the review. Or maybe that’s just me. But I don’t think so.

She’s afraid to live, he’s afraid to die. There couldn’t be two more opposite people than Corin and Beckett, but my how perfect they are for each other. Corin’s an awkward, panic-attack having, hypochondriac- she has herself convinced there’s something deathly wrong with her, even though every doctor she’s been to finds nothing. Beckett lived life to the fullest- he’s athletic and out-going, until the unthinkable happens and a previously unknown heart defect sends his world into a tailspin and he has to completely change the way he lives.

Oh the love I have for this book! It has All.The.Feels.- I was laughing, crying, sighing, swooning, smiling; it had my heart racing and butterflies filling my chest. Corin is such a unique character- I really adore her, in all her embarrassing, endearing awkwardness. And Beckett, oh sweet darling Beckett! He’s amazing and adorable, he’s strong and determined, he’s everything Corin needs in her life. He’s everything I need in my life!

Butterfly Dreams is a heart-wrenching emotional roller-coaster. It’s so beautifully written, it will have you laughing one minute, sobbing the next. Beckett and Corin have become one of my favorite couples, oh my gosh I could just gush over how much I love them. This book left me drained, I needed cucumbers for my puffy eyes they day after I finished it and to restock my supply of Puffs. But it’s everything you could want in a book- I loved every single word of it, I loved every minute I spent reading it. Defintely one of my favorite books of the year!

"You need to live each day like you won’t get another, Corin. Don’t waste time being miserable." Wise words for all of us to live by.

This was such a beautiful novel! Everything about it pulled me in and I absolutely devoured it!! The writing was lyrical and flowed easily, making it an incredibly enjoyable read. It had me crying, laughing, swooning, cheering, screaming, and everything in between.

I loved her!! It should probably concern me that I related so much to character who was so obsessively neurotic, but oh well... I did. She was hilarious.

"Well, it sounds like she sucked. And you shouldn’t waste time on sucky people."

Corin is a withdrawn and lonely person, obsessed with her own mortality. I've never read a book where the MC suffered from Münchausen syndrome. I thought it was a very unique twist, and while I don't have personal experience with it, I thought the author did an amazing job with the portrayal. It takes awhile for Corin to open up and there are a few speed bumps, but I thought there was a really nice balance of angst and acceptance. She's one of those characters who I wished were real so I could be friends with her. I love my fellow weirdos ;)

-Beckett-

My last book boyfriend was the epitome of dreamy... so this one had a lot to live up to. But Beckett definitely delivered!! I loved how he balanced his optimism with his sadness. He didn't let his heart attack bring him down, but he also took moments to mourn the things he loved about his old life. And once he was done mourning, he was able to appreciate the positives of the heart attack...

"And you, Corin Thompson, make everything worth it."

He also had no problem being mushy. Beck was completely captivated by Corin, and he had zero problem admitting it. Additionally, when he finds out about Corin's neuroses, he doesn't waver.

As far as plot goes, the synopsis does a very fair job of describing what you'll get. I did find the story to be a little bit predictable, but between how much I loved the characters (even the side ones were great!) and how great the writing was, I didn't really care. The story focused more on the emotions and character growth, rather than a gripping, what-will-happen-next plot. So just be sure you're in the right frame of mind! ;)

But if this book interests you at all--and you don't mind a little predictability--I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot! ) Especially because it's only $0.99!
A resounding 4.5 stars...I will admit that it took me some time to warm up to these characters...I wasn't quite sure of their personalities or their chemistry...the first 30 to 40 percent of the book was somewhat flat for me...not boring because my interest was peaked and the storyline was intriguing...I was simply waiting for something to shift, and boy did it ever...I finally connected with the characters and their quirky personalities as well as their uncharacteristic chemistry...Corin's dry, sarcastic sense of humor had me laughing out loud and Beck's sweet, endearing nature had me swooning...something about these two "damaged" characters worked so well together and they captured both my attention and my affection...in true A. Meredith Walters fashion, tough topics were tackled with a sense of realism and integrity that captivated me...there is so much truth in her words and she is not afraid to "go there", but she does it with such a sense of compassion and honesty that one can not help but love the journey.
